REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Journeyman carpenter with membership, or acceptance into, Carpenters Local 270 per contract Article II.
2. Skilled and knowledgeable in carpentry, construction, and related work.
3. Able to work with proficiency and productivity.
4. Able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
5. Punctual, well groomed, and well mannered.
6. Have a telephone for daily communication with supervisor and staff.
7. Own dependable transportation and have valid driver’s license.
8. Ability to communicate and maintain a good working relationship with other employees and general staff.
9. Pass background check in accordance with District requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds; climb ladders, scaffold, and stairs; walk moderate distances, grasp, hold and operate tools, see and read instruments, service manuals and instructions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Set up, operate, and maintain all types of equipment related to the carpentry trade in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Install and maintain building elements including but not limited to commercial roofing, flooring, ceilings, wall systems, doors, windows, hardware, cabinetry, and classroom equipment.
3. Order materials, plan, and lay out general carpentry or related items.
4. Maintain sufficient tools, in good repair, to perform assigned work.
5. Willing to perform overtime work if needed.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
