The team

As a part of Cloud & Data practice, we are looking for talented AWS Cloud Engineer to join us to contribute, practice initiatives and keep current in the latest technology developments in the Cloud and Product Engineering space.

The role

What you’ll be doing
• Implement migration strategies (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor) as defined by migration architects.
• Use AWS tools like Migration Hub, Application Migration Service (MGN), and Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate workloads.
• Ensure data integrity, application performance, and minimal downtime during migrations.
• Configure AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, RDS databases, and networking (VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups).
• Build and configure Landing Zones as per AWS Well-Architected Framework best practices.
• Implement security measures such as IAM roles, policies, and encryption mechanisms.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for automated provisioning.
• Optimize workloads for performance, scalability, and cost using AWS tools like Trusted Advisor and Cost Explorer.
• Set up monitoring and logging solutions using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Log Insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during migrations, ensuring stable and performant AWS environments.
• Work closely with migration architects, application teams, and DevOps engineers to ensure successful migrations.
• Contribute to Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain detailed documentation for migration steps, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Assess day-to-day monitoring of IT security systems by reviewing end customer security alerts and logs.
• Preparing and documenting standard operating procedures.

What you’ll bring

Mandatory skills:
• Minimum of 3+ year experience in a security engineering role, with experience in network security, application security, and security frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
• Experience in AWS networking (VPC, Route 53, Transit Gateway) and security configurations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Migration Hub, MGN, SMS, and DMS for workload migration.
• Familiarity with dependency mapping and application assessment tools.
• Expertise in writing IaC scripts using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for automated provisioning and management.
• Proficiency in monitoring and diagnostics using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party tools like Datadog or New Relic.
• Experience working in Scrum or Agile teams with a focus on iterative delivery and collaboration.
• Solid understanding and experience with securing public cloud deployments and distributed systems using public cloud hosting, including AWS
• Excellent computer proficiency including JIRA

Nice to have skills:

• Lead the execution of end-to-end migration projects, leveraging AWS services and tools like AWS Migration Hub, AWS Server Migration Service (SMS), and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Familiarity with advanced AWS services like EKS, Redshift, and Step Functions.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Familiarity with AWS Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, and cost optimization techniques.
• Experience with data transfer services like Snowball, Storage Gateway, or S3 Transfer Acceleration.
• Knowledge of advanced security practices, such as implementing AWS WAF, GuardDuty, and AWS Security Hub.
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Proactive in identifying and addressing challenges during migrations.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers in the team.
• Hands on experience with scripts and languages such as Bash/PowerShell/Python/Go
• Knowledge of how to execute security testing (SAST, DAST and SCA) implemented via a CI/CD pipeline.
• Ability to assist in coding of custom automations of security tasks is a plus

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $120k-$135k base+ bonus. 

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Services bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
