Intern Will Report To: Manager Research and Development Telematics
Hybrid Position: Some days in the office in Chicago
Overview:
This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge telematics technology to advance the rail industry. In addition, you will gain valuable hands-on experience, collaborate with a dynamic team, and contribute to innovative projects that have a real impact on the future of transportation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to support the activities related to telematics devices and their functionality.
- Participate in experiments to test and validate telematics functionality and reliability.
- Assist in analyzing data from telematics devices to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in coding (Python, C++, SQL, or similar languages).
- Some experience with hardware design and testing, and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required, database experience preferred.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, communicate effectively with team members, and adapt to working remotely frequently.
