Job Description Summary:

Provides leadership and direction to assigned group within established objectives and policies. Ensures coordinated working relationships among staff, physicians and other Ambulatory Surgery Center and hospital departments through the alignment of resources with patient /customers and staff needs. Promotes Service Excellence to improve patient care and customer service. Solves problems and make decisions using a consensus-based solution that serves the patient/customer, physicians and staff. Secures the organization’s long-term ability to serve. Recruits the most qualified personnel to serve our patients/customers.

Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

EDUCATION

  • Sufficient education to obtain a valid California RN license
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or related field required; concentration in Perioperative Nursing preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred    

EXPERIENCE

  • Formulating annual budgets (operating and capital)
  • Progressive Supervisory or personnel management
  • Familiarity with agency and regulatory compliance in-patient care delivery systems
  • Demonstrates at least 3 years’ experience in perioperative setting, strongly preferred
  • Periop101 training, highly desired                                                                                                      

PREREQUISITE SKILLS

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with a diverse staff, physicians and outside agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of surgical center and hospital personnel and external customer
  • Demonstrates ability to set priorities, achieve objectives, solve problems, meet deadlines, coordinate simultaneous projects and make decisions
  • Demonstrates clinical and technical skills in patient care delivery
  • Expert knowledge of key perioperative standards and compliance specifications (AORN, ASPAN, AAMI, Title-22, OSHA, etc.)
  • Experience in data management and analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of management and leadership theories
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated oral and written skills
  • Ability to read, write, understand and follow English verbal and written instructions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (MS Word, Excel and Power Point) including ability to format

Compensation:

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth’s compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
