Role Overview:
As a Senior Technology Specialist, you’ll play a key role in translating business needs into robust technical solutions that support BMO’s Canadian Regulatory obligations. You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle, applying deep technical expertise to design, build, and maintain high-quality applications and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate user requirements into clear technical specifications and design documentation.
Support system architecture and design, with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
Develop, test, and implement software solutions using best practices across the SDLC.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting and fault resolution.
Ensure code and configurations meet standards for security, logging, error handling, and performance.
Evaluate new technologies for fit and impact across systems, data, and risk.
Follow release management and version control processes.
Provide consulting and technical support to business and technology partners.
Work independently to solve complex, non-routine issues.
Be available for night/weekend deployments as needed.
Continuously learn from documentation, projects, and day-to-day work.
Qualifications:
5–7 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field (or equivalent).
5+ years of SQL development.
5+ years of Application Development.
5+ years of experience working in the Banking/AML areas .
Strong understanding of data migration and application integration.
Experience supporting in-house built applications; must be a self-starter with a drive to understand business context.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub and Ansible for both deployment and code management.
Passion for troubleshooting, problem analysis, and continuous learning.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
