As a Lead Software Engineer, UI Developer at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Technology division, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team, designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Specifically, you will work on a global platform responsible for high-, low-, and zero-touch secondary quoting and trading for highly complex over-the-counter structured derivatives and securitized structured products.
Job responsibilities
- Spearhead the delivery of greenfield initiative to transform and migrate WPF user interface to React, leveraging standard libraries available to users in the firm.
- Work with key stakeholders in Sales, Trading, QR, Operations and others globally to ensure the Secondary platform meets business requirements.
- Directly contribute to the ongoing efforts to re-engineer & re-architect the existing Secondary platform to make it performant, truly highly available, stable, efficient, and scalable.
- Lead and contribute to the identification and implementation of opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues, with the aim of improving overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on React and Java concepts and proficient advanced experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Good overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Microservices architecture concepts and cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, and advanced proficiency.
- Experience and appreciation for dockerized applications within systems.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Minimum six years experience in a similar role.
- Education to degree level, ideally in a computer science, mathematical or engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Experienced with WPF,C#.
- Experience with order management and trading user interfaces.
- Experienced with Java, Gradle, and Jenkins.
- Practical experience with AWS.
- Understanding of financial products, specifically equity derivatives.
- Experience of publish/subscribe messaging protocols e.g. AMQP.
- Exposure to NoSQL systems such as Cassandra and MongoDB.
