Position Summary:
ENTEGRA® Solutions is seeking a driven Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to lead a diverse team of engineers in the design of Inline Inspection tools, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of Capex, sustaining, and maintenance projects. You will be responsible for aligning the engineering department’s objectives with the company’s growth strategy, optimizing team performance, and collaborating with Production in support of project goals.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior management to align the engineering department's vision and objectives with company growth goals. Set clear, actionable objectives for the team to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Team Management: Lead and coach a diverse team of engineers, look after staffing needs, and support supervisors to achieve optimal performance in line with company policies and values.
- Project Oversight: Oversee Mechanical Engineering tasks on all Capex, sustaining, and maintenance projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely delivery. Implement and monitor action plans to achieve project objectives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate priorities, vision, and strategic action plans to internal and external stakeholders, fostering alignment and partnerships across the organization.
- Process Improvement: Formulate and implement departmental processes and standards, driving continuous improvement in quality and cost-effectiveness. Develop tools and processes to enhance operational efficiency and stakeholder alignment.
- Risk Management: Conduct feasibility and risk reviews, develop mitigation plans, and manage risks to ensure projects meet schedule, quality, and budget targets.
- Continuous Improvement: Research and recommend new processes, methods, and equipment to support the continuous development and competitiveness of the engineering department.
- Technical Administration: Manage and administer SOLIDWORKS installations, PDM databases, and SIMULIA nonlinear FEA software to support engineering operations. Proficient with the Office suite, Excel (Pivot tables, VBA Scripts), Project/Gantt
- Operational Excellence: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, consistently working towards the achievement of individual and team goals.
- Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Inline Inspection or similar experience would be an asset.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, project management, and process improvement.
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, PDM, FEA, Excel (Pivot tables), Project
