JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the Maintenance team the Maintenance Planner is responsible for maintenance planning, management of the CMMS workorder system and managing parts inventory. Overall focus is on improving productivity and quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles through proper planning of the required materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Planning:
Primary responsibility is for the success of the maintenance job planning functions
- Collect and maintain all information resources needed to perform maintenance job planning.
- Coordinate employee resources and work schedules in all maintenance planning functions
- Estimate prep work and job labor requirements on all work orders (craft information/job hours estimate, etc.)
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to determine level of job planning required
- Prepare/create a detailed Work Order for each job as required to complete the Planning Process (prints/manuals, BOM, job/task steps, PPE, timeline, parts/materials, staging information, outside resources, etc.)
- Coordinate with Production Planning and Sanitation on machine/equipment availability
- Responsible for the integrity of the work order system for all inputted information
- Communicate to Maintenance Technicians the written planning process (posting of schedules and work orders)
- Initiate and process Work Order requests
Maintain the integrity of the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Schedule
- Data entry of updates to the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Schedules (Master PM Schedules)
- Maintain compliance with the Master PM schedule
Data collection of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance performance measurements, production of reports and graphs, and distribution
- Publish and distribute backlog reports when requested
- Produce and administer key performance reports for analysis and review when requested by Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
Computer Maintenance Management System:
Manage all Planner inputted planning information in CMMS (Work Order System)
- Act as the administrator for the CMMS system
- Manage all inputted data from work orders, emergency work orders, and work order requests into CMMS
- Update machine history files when work is completed
- Input new equipment data/information
- Develop and input new Equipment PM’s and PM schedules
- Responsible for integrity of parts information in CMMS – Planner Inputted data
Share responsibility with maintenance manager/supervisor for training support on CMMS during the on-boarding process of new maintenance mechanics
Parts Inventory:
Provide feedback/support on ordering parts, materials, and determining inventory levels
- Responsible for the accuracy of cross-referencing part numbers, vendor information, descriptions, etc. (Planner Inputted).
- Provide feedback/information to determine spare parts requirements.
- Update Spares List on equipment when necessary
- Assist in providing information for parts specifications
- Provide performance feedback/information when requested to regarding vendors
- Assist in reviewing, analyzing and evaluating the quality, cost, availability, etc. of parts for assigned work orders
- Assist in determining usage rate, reorder point, min / max, and quantity for parts and materials
- Communicate parts/materials delivery outages that impact the maintenance planning schedule
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maintenance planning and mechanical aptitude experience preferred
- Good data analysis and ability to make business decisions based on data
- Working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, & Word
- Experience with CMMS Systems
- Good data entry skills
- Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to effectively work with people with diverse backgrounds
- Working knowledge of the Bakery manufacturing process and equipment (preferred)
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment parts and equipment integration (preferred)
- Ability to understand and communicate instructions in English
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:
- Position may require repetitive movement, bending and twisting, using hands to handle objects; exposure to sustained noise levels; working in very hot temperatures; exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, ladders and powered industrial vehicles. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Able to work in an environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains and other allergens
- Must be available for all shifts, nights, weekends, some holidays, occasional overtime, if necessary
- Weekend and holiday work will be mandatory with rotating responsibilities for assisting with emergency repairs, plant preventative and work order-based maintenance activities
