The Safety, Training, and Vehicle Servicing Supervisor is responsible for supervising, training, and supporting Homage's Transportation Assistance Program (TAP) staff to ensure proper performance of their duties including: response to passenger incidents and accidents, on the road performance, all vehicle maintenance and repairs (approximately 20 vehicles), record keeping, filing reports, and compliance with contractual provisions. This position reports to the Senior Manager, TAP. This is a safety sensitive position subject to all federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist TAP Manager in employee recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation process while ensuring all transportation staff remain current with contract requirements
- Develop and maintain staff relationships to achieve high staff morale, productivity, teamwork and retention
- Responsible for the implementation of training programs (in house or vendor) and refinement of training materials and procedures as needed
- Maintenance management including administration of vendor contract, assurance of compliance with regulatory agency criteria, and scheduling of the fleet for routine and demand maintenance
- Coordinates services with various entities
- Check the completion of pre-trip inspections and meet with drivers for re-training/counseling as needed
- Perform on-road safety checks. Regularly ride with drivers to perform observation and/or coaching. Work in collaboration with TAP Manager on actions needed to be taken to correct performance issues.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and incidents, and assist passengers to ensure service requirements. Conduct investigations in the field as needed. Ensure all reports are accurately completed and distributed to all required recipients.
- Remain on-call during business hours to rescue stranded TAP drivers in the event of a bus break down or accident
- Investigate customer comments and complaints, prepare reports regarding findings, and work with management and staff to resolve issues
- Analyze and maintain records in accordance with federal, local, and contractual requirements
- Work with all agency staff to develop, implement, and ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and training
- Perform checks on equipment for suitability and safety of service
- Represent agency in a professional and respectful manner
- May be asked to serve on the Homage Safety Committee
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications*:
- 1 year experience in public transportation industry and working Paratransit and/or Fixed Route environments
- 7 years licensed driving experience with no preventable accidents in the last 3 years and no moving traffic violations in the past 5 years
- Current WA State CDL with passenger endorsement and DOT Medical Card
- 1 year supervisory experience
- 1 year training experience with ability to effectively manage diverse work styles and personalities
- Experience in accident response and conducting accident investigations
- Experience in working with a varied population, including older adults, people with disabilities, and diverse cultural groups
- Proficient working with all Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with Ecolane or similar scheduling software

Absent any regulatory or contractual requirement for specific education/certification, other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough working knowledge of all aspects of transportation operations, training, and safety
- Ability to analyze and interpret statistical and performance data
- Understanding of federal, state, and local laws, standards, and requirements related to transportation programs, CDL requirements and ADA regulations
- Experience using radio communications and computer information systems
- Ability to operate all agency vehicles
- Ability to problem-solve in stressful situations, making appropriate decisions
- Conflict resolution skills, including recognizing and responding to potentially volatile situations
- Available to work all days and shifts as required by operation
- Knowledgeable in Defensive Driving, CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to understand instructions furnished in written and oral form
- Geographic knowledge of Snohomish County and ability to read maps
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication in English

SUMMARY OF BENEFITS
Employees working 25 hours or more are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, vision, basic life, and critical illness insurance, with an increased cost share for employees scheduled for 25-29 hours/week. Employees working 20 hours or more per week receive 11 designated paid holidays plus 2 "floating holidays" per year, as well as paid vacation and sick time. Employees age 21 and older are able to enroll in our 401K plan upon hire and, after one year and at least 1000 hours worked, will be eligible for our matching program.
