REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journeyman carpenter with membership, or acceptance into, Carpenters Local 270 per contract Article II.
- Skilled and knowledgeable in carpentry, construction, and related work.
- Able to work with proficiency and productivity.
- Able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Punctual, well groomed, and well mannered.
- Have a telephone for daily communication with supervisor and staff.
- Own dependable transportation and have valid driver’s license.
- Ability to communicate and maintain a good working relationship with other employees and general staff.
- Pass background check in accordance with District requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds; climb ladders, scaffold, and stairs; walk moderate distances, grasp, hold and operate tools, see and read instruments, service manuals and instructions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up, operate, and maintain all types of equipment related to the carpentry trade in a safe and efficient manner.
- Install and maintain building elements including but not limited to commercial roofing, flooring, ceilings, wall systems, doors, windows, hardware, cabinetry, and classroom equipment.
- Order materials, plan, and lay out general carpentry or related items.
- Maintain sufficient tools, in good repair, to perform assigned work.
- Willing to perform overtime work if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
