Position Overview:

 The Pain Management Clinic Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing support for outpatient pain management services within our Rural Health and Specialty Clinic. Working under the supervision of the Pain Management Provider and in collaboration with the RN and support staff, this position ensures patients receive compassionate, consistent, and quality care throughout their treatment journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient preparation, procedures, and post-visit coordination.
  • Provide patient education and reinforce care plans established by the provider or RN.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with regulations.
  • Support and promote safe clinic operations and infection prevention standards.
  • Monitor and assist with patient flow to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and team members.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and providers to ensure clarity and follow-through.
  • Oversee daily activities of assigned CMA/CNA staff.
  • Respond appropriately to patient needs and emergent situations within LPN scope.
  • Participate in clinic quality initiatives and workflow improvement projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Required Skills and Abilities:

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of nursing principles and techniques relevant to outpatient care.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to foster trust and cooperation.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and situations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a busy clinical setting.
  • Dedication to compassionate, safe, and professional patient care.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • One year of clinical or outpatient experience preferred (new graduates welcome and supported).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Active, unencumbered LPN license with the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
