Basic Job Summary: The Shuttle Driver is a key role in a Service Department. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe and courteous pick up and delivery of customers within the dealerships scope of operations also included is various duties that help maintain the quality of a Service Lane and Service Department.
Maintaining the Loaner fleet and being fully responsible for those vehicles with cleaning, maintenance and fueling at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Shuttle Driver must have ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Must have valid Virginia driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record and safe driving habits.
- The Shuttle Driver should express good judgment and honesty.
- This person must be trustworthy enough to have unsupervised access to our vehicles, our buildings and our customer's vehicles and property.
- Positive, reliable, dependable and taking the initiative to get things done when needed, as needed without being told.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness, grooming and uniform appearance “shirts tucked in at all times.”
- Employees who have contact with Priority’s customers are expected to wear their hair in a businesslike manner. Styles that distract from the business purpose of Priority’s operations or create a safety issue. Facial hair must be neatly groomed and kept to a minimum.
- If hats are worn the only acceptable head-gear are those of a ball caps design or knit hats with the Priority logo or Lexus. Ball caps must be worn straight with the bill of the hat forward and centered. Knit caps must have logo center of forehead.
- Wear a name tag on a daily basis.
- Conduct all business with sincerity, honesty and genuine concern for the customer.
- Make certain potential customer relations problems are brought to the attention of the ASM’s or Service Manager.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the work area.
B. Specific Responsibilities:
- Deliver and pick up customers in a prompt and polite manner.
- Complete a log at the time of customer delivery.
- Safely drive the vehicle, being sure to abide by all local and state laws, to include parking laws and speed limits.
- As an ambassador of Priority Automotive on the road, you are required to provide prudent and courteousness driving habits.
- Clean the vehicle each night and fuel up as needed. Turn in keys and gas card daily to the Service Manager before going home.
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the service department and the courtesy vehicle.
- Wash the outside of the vehicle weekly.
- Be responsible for the basic upkeep of the vehicle.
- Ensure that the vehicle receives proper maintenance, and gets annual state safety inspections before they are due.
- Properly secure shuttle vehicle on premises before leaving for the day.
- Greater, Lane Assistant, Shuttle runs and or Vendor runs.
- MUST be able to keep up with the Loaner vehicles.
- MUST report any damage immediately to ASMs or Service Manager.
- MUST keep them clean at all times and filled up. Keeping loaners readily available at all times for the ASMs.
C. Responsibilities with assisting Service Porters:
- Assist Service Porters with keeping Service Lane clear of vehicles.
- Keep Service Lane area clean and neat.
- Ensure all vehicles that arrive gets a seat cover, steering wheel cover and floor mat.
- When parking vehicle do not adjust seat or steering wheel, Turn radios off, do not change the station.
- Transport and park vehicles in a skillful orderly manner.
- Park service vehicles in appropriate parking space and mark tags with the location.
- Ensure a visual inspection is performed on every vehicle that enters the service lane to detect damage.
- Return vehicle keys to the appropriate key box immediately after parking vehicle.
- Report any vehicle damage to Service Manager immediately.
- Arrive to work promptly at times assigned.
- Drive customer vehicles in a careful and prudent manner 5 mph max.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
DRESS CODE/UNIFORM:
This position requires a uniform, which a rental service is provided by the dealership. We will provide six uniforms shirts. Uniform pants are provided by uniform company or if you prefer to wear your own slacks.
