Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall quality, direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects through all phases of the project (Initiation, Planning, Execution and Close Out). The Project Manager provides input into the design and execution of projects that address the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and construction workers. The Project Manager negotiates and manages contracts and ensures that all construction documents and required recordkeeping is maintained appropriately. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and drive projects to successful completion through a safe work environment, quality construction, cost management, collaboration with project stakeholders, with superior customer service. It is a priority that the candidate lives near Lafayette, Indiana. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The project manager performs tasks including but not limited to: 

  • Create estimates, value engineering, and develop comprehensive project budgets. 
  • Create a comprehensive project schedule. 
  • Manages the designer, contractor, and vendor procurement strategy, adherence, and relationships. 
  • Manage projects including designer, contractor, and vendor coordination, conflict resolution, and documentation. 
  • Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of resources, materials, and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze project costs, exposures, and profits through project completion. 
  • Report monthly progress as necessary to ensure project information is available to leadership.
  • Ensure substantial completion as defined in the specifications and coordination of Conditions of Satisfaction at major milestones. 
  • Validate the submission of record drawings, maintenance manuals & warranties to ensure a smooth and successful closeout. 
  • Interface with all company departments as necessary to resolve any issue by acting as the liaison between the sponsor, the project, and government officials. 
  • Providing project support to the comprehensive project management team, which includes the director, project manager, project engineer, project coordinator, and project sponsor team members. 
  • Communicating confidentially with project team members, including, but not limited to, the Client, Architect, Engineer, General Contractor, Subcontractors, Project Managers, and Field Personnel to coordinate and communicate project needs and requirements. 
  • Reprioritizing workload when project shifts, ensuring schedule and assignments are clearly communicated to all necessary team members. 
  • Managing multiple requests in a timely fashion and reprioritizing to meet shifting deadlines. 
  • Assisting with training & development coordination and support. 
  • Backing up other coordinators in similar positions during absence and peak workload. 
  • Plays an active role in driving adherence to the project Health Safety Program

Requirements

  

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or other related field is 
  • required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
  • Requires knowledge of business, management, finance, and project cost control techniques.
  • Requires comprehension of applicable regulations, such as the NFPA Life Safety Code, ISDH Regulations including the AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, International Building Code, and Americans with Disability Act.
  • Ability to utilize software programs and templates including but not limited to: eBuilder, Oracle, Power BI, Smartsheet, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Provide leadership through building relationships, motivating others, providing clear direction, and cooperative teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organization, time-management, verbal and written, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable at the table with all levels of leadership
  • Proactive Problem Solver with outstanding interpersonal skills.
