Responsibilities
- Responsible for patient charging and auditing process.
- Responsible for the Quality of Surgery Scheduling for BH/GBH.
- Responsible for creating building surgical blocks for doctors and all Block Booking.
- Manages the data entry/auditing process.
- Analyzes medical records documentation post op for accuracy utilizing auditing guidelines.
- Performs post Clinical Patient Data Entry (Journal) for those departments not on electronic medical record.
- Responsible for the Charge Auditors & Scheduling department’s activities and staff:
- Produce key Surgical Department Statistics (Department, Physician, Staff stats)
- Follows new procedures as directed by Leadership to ensure optimal service and excellent customer service is provided to all customers, including Patients, Physicians and Ancillary Service Lines.
- Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
- May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 years surgery scheduling and charge entry experience Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Medical/Surgical Procedure terminology knowledge required.
- Hospital Information Systems, Lotus, WordPerfect, Excel; Proficiency at Periop Information System within 6 months on the job training.
- Multi-tasking abilities with accuracy and follow through to completion.
- Excellent data entry skills, typing accuracy essential.
- Ability to read and understand the English language.
- Must have the ability to perform as a positive, team member and help foster teamwork.
