As an Export Broker Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting Staples’ international trade and export activities, ensuring goods are shipped efficiently, legally, and in compliance with all global trade regulations. You’ll serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and international partners, delivering a seamless export experience and driving our global market expansion.
What you will be doing:
- Coordinate and manage end-to-end export processes, including order fulfillment, documentation, carrier booking, and shipment tracking.
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. and international export laws and trade regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, USMCA).
- Interpret and communicate foreign customs regulations and procedures to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Prepare and review critical documentation such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, export declarations, and certificates of origin.
- Work closely with third-party vendors, including freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers, to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Serve as the go-to contact for resolving issues related to international shipments, customs holds, and compliance alerts.
- Partner with teams across Sales, Compliance, Supply Chain, and Legal to align export activities with business objectives.
- Analyze export operations, recommend process improvements, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with export requirements and provide guidance on international shipping protocols.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in export logistics, international trade compliance, or freight forwarding.
- Working knowledge of international shipping documentation and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and shipment tracking platforms.
- Ability to research and interpret foreign customs regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with trade compliance regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, OFAC).
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and ECCNs.
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, or French).
- Experience working with global freight carriers or third-party logistics providers.
- Licensed U.S. Export Broker.
