Roles and Responsibilities

You will:

• Assist in the development of new chemical processes
• Work with researchers to develop methods and build equipment that can perform various tasks relevant to chemical processes in GE Vernova projects
• Perform basis characterization of chemical materials.
• Identify key technical issues, develop new processes and iteratively improve system performance through experimentation and process optimization with assistance from scientists and engineers
• Independently operate various pieces of laboratory equipment,  investigate novel material components and integrated material systems, and utilize basic analytical methods.
• Be responsible for the safe and compliant use/operation and disposal of hazardous chemicals and materials
• Build relationships with colleagues at GE Vernova Advanced Research with a wide variety of technical expertise and business responsibilities.
• Provide experimental data for IP disclosures and patent application processes.
• Be a member of a multidisciplinary team developing functional material systems

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials science or related discipline, or Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years’ of hands-on industrial experience in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or Associate's Degree with 10+ years' experience in same.
• Familiarity with Chemical processing and testing methods
• Ability to build and troubleshoot chemical process equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new areas of research
• Ability to work with diverse, high-paced teams
• Willing to work government-funded projects
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

The salary range for this position is $71,600 - $107,400 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will remain posted until at least August 25th, 2025.
