Job Summary:
Responsible for duties related to the referral process of prevention services for both Pasco and Pinellas Counties. Conducts regular review of all incoming service referrals to ensure appropriate services are assigned given the child safety determination and risk level. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, various administrative tasks, managing calendars, data collection/entry in case management systems, maintaining records, meeting minutes, parent surveying and creating reports. Worker will assess and compile feedback and data for continuous quality improvement and program outcomes.
This position serves as a liaison between the referring agencies and the FSS Family Preservation team.
Job Duties
- Initially assess and review each diversion and prevention referral for eligibility and required information and input referral information in the appropriate system.
- Research and resolve issues with diversion/prevention referrals ie. safety plans and assist Child Protective Investigators and Prevention Staff with information requested.
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports that track cases by children and families that are served by the various prevention programs.
- Review case files for quality improvement to include surveying families regarding their experience in the programs.
- Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts and problems identified/potential problems.
- Assists in planning special events for program services.
- Perform other duties.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associates degree from an accredited school is preferred.
Experience:
Administrative support experience to include data management and stellar customer service is required. Experience working with at-risk children and/or families and familiarity of area resources is preferred.

Ability to:
• Assess psychosocial behavior, child safety risks, and environmental factors in order to make appropriate case assignments
• Make sound safety decisions within a short timeframe
• Comprehend, collect and analyze data from FSS database systems
• Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
• Communicate orally with employees, clients, or public using a telephone, in a face-to-face, one-to-one setting, and in a group setting
• Maintain confidentiality of records and information
• Work independently and efficiently in an environment filled with interruptions and crisis
• Be highly organized, detail oriented and flexible
Knowledge of:
• Social Worker principals, techniques and practices as well as their application to casework and community problems
• New and existing social service providers in Pasco and Pinellas Counties and surrounding areas as needed
• Current policies and procedures of the Prevention Programs
• Child protective issues and methodology
• Computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio
Other Requirements:
• Clear a Level II background screening.
• Clear a reference check
• Clear a local background check from the county in which you reside
• Clear a substance abuse screen
