The position will be responsible for ensuring Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are properly applied to a variety of complex issues in a retail business environment. Position is primarily responsible for the daily analysis of fuel inventory variances, bill of lading reconciliation, weekly weighted average cost and gross profit review. Assists in month end close processes.
Responsibilities
Review fuel inventory variances on a daily basis using MS Excel, external inventory data and store closing reports. Daily matching of bill of ladings in PDI fuel inventory system. Data entry related to delivered business fuel suppliers. Perform and review month end close process. This position requires the ability to identify research and resolve inventory variance. Develop an in depth understanding of various complex business transactions and the corresponding accounting implications by partnering with internal and external stakeholders. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders via email, BMC Remedy and MS Sharepoint. Light journal entry accounting.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
Experience: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to understand and appropriately respond to a variety of business process issues.
Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills are required to prepare and process documentation, summarize recommendations for review by various levels of accounting management, and resolve various vendor issues.
Technology: Strong computer skills in PC applications and ability to learn new software. Microsoft Office Programs (Excel and Outlook) are heavily used. PDI knowledge preferred.
