The Harker School is currently searching for a morning Associate to join our Middle School Enrichment and Supervision Team for the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Summary: This is a part-time position for the 2025-2026 academic school year. Hours of work will be dependent upon school and department needs, but will generally be 7:00 am to 12:30 pm.. The exact work schedule will be determined between the Directors and the AM BASE Associate.
Expected hourly range: $24.00 - 25.00/hour
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Must have current certification in both first aid and CPR. If not, the employee will attend class(es) provided by Harker.
- Must have prior experience working with children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Run study hall classes when needed
- Work with the Counseling department to ensure student success
- Check in with students one on one
- Develop a study plan of action for identified assignments

- Run weekly grade reports
- Assist with homework
- Communicate with teachers
- Oversee or co-advise an advisory
- Create and generate daily announcements/flyers for Middle School birthdays, Fun Fridays, AMP activities, etc
- Supervise breaks and lunch
- Run lunchtime activities
- Work with spirit club to oversee spirit students
- Observe student behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques
- Provide coverage for staff/faculty breaks on a needed basis
- Attend required training(s) from The Harker School on adolescent emotional and social understanding

- Serve as a positive adult role model and provide leadership, energy and spirit
- Must have excellent people skills that provide an opportunity for professional relationships with students and other coworkers
- Ability to communicate and work with groups of all age and skill levels, and provide necessary direction and instruction to students
- Must be able to take direction from supervisors and other departments directly involved with MS BASE
- Must be self-motivated
- Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple situations and tasks
- Must maintain a positive attitude and professional outlook
- Ability to effectively communicate with and understand students and other staff members
- Physical ability to stand for 3 hours or more
- Physical ability to withstand climate extremes
- Must have the physical ability to walk and stand on the school grounds for an extended period of time
