The Vice President of Operations is a qualified full-time employee appointed by the CEO and COO to administer, direct and coordinate all administrative and financial activities of the home health agency, and to oversee administrators of home health agencies within assigned geographic area.
Family First Homecare team members represent the organization and its services in a competent, professional and responsive manner while maintaining standards of high-quality patient care and customer service in accordance with all state, local and federal requirements, rules and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the organizational operation of assigned geographic or office-based division and partners with Area Director of Nursing, Vice President of Clinical and Chief Clinical Officer.
Plan, organize, direct and evaluate operations of assigned offices to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Undertake fiscal planning by budgeting and managing operations in accordance with established fiscal parameters.
Implement company directives and ensure the implementation of organizational policies and procedures, as well as the development and implementation of appropriate service policies.
Support each assigned office within a given Region with a plan to recruit, employ, develop, and retain qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Establish and maintain effective channels of communication.
Ensure adequate staff education, training, and evaluation.
Ensure office and field staff satisfaction within assigned offices.
Ensure overall satisfaction of clientele within assigned offices.
Direct and monitor organizational Performance Improvement activities.
Assure that skilled nursing and other services furnished are under the supervision and direction of a physician or a Registered Nurse where appropriate.
Assure appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours.
Represent the organization to other groups, agencies, and the public using accurate public information materials.
Assure the development and qualifications of professional services and the assignment of personnel.
Completes performance evaluations on subordinate staff in accordance with Agency policy.
Plans, develops, implements, administers, and evaluates program.
Monitor accounts receivable and collections of assigned offices.
If acting as administrator, serves as the agency’s Disaster Coordinator and is in charge as the Safety Liaison during an emergency as required in 408.821(1), F.S.
Assumes responsibilities described in the agency corporate compliance plan.
Ensures branches are in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
Participates in FFHC Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement program (QAPI) as requested.
Attends and/or completes all mandatory training/ in-services as assigned.
Submits required personnel file documentation in a timely manner.
Adheres to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations.
Maintains patient and family confidentiality.
Maintains professional, supportive and responsive interpersonal communication skills.
Preforms other duties as assigned.
Must be able to travel 50% of the time to branch locations.
When visiting office locations be present during posted operating hours.
Continuing Program Evaluation
Participate in the review, analysis and appraisal of the effectiveness of the total Agency program.
Evaluate service policies and functions and recommend proposals for changes or study of problems which affect the Agency.
Evaluate the performance of the Director of Operations, Area Director of Operations and other individuals in the program to establish standards and the individual’s professional development.
Implement all utilization review activities.
Ensure coordination and timely implementation of corrective action plans and controls.
Meets Federal, State and Accreditation Requirements
Be familiar with federal, state and accreditation regulations and maintain them in the Agency.
Be responsible for familiarizing the employees with all laws and regulations and making copies of the rules available for their use.
Be responsible for the completion, maintenance and submission of such reports and records as required.
Designate a professional employee to be his/her authorized representative in his/her absence.
Maintain a current organizational chart to show lines of authority to the patient level.
Clearly identify public services provided by the Agency in the geographic area in which these services are available.
Maintain office facility for the Agency which is large enough for efficient staff work, adequately equipped, and which provides for a safe working environment, meeting local ordinances and fire regulations.
Ensure the accuracy of public information materials and activities.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Relevant experience can be substituted for the degree.
5 years of leadership experience working in a home health care, hospital, ambulatory surgical center, assisted living facility, nursing home other related healthcare setting. Other post-acute/non acute healthcare settings will be considered.

A licensed Healthcare Professional who has five years of health-related leadership experience and the preferred education, knowledge, and ability to effectively direct the program.

The ability to read and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
WORKING CONDITIONS/EQUIPMENT USE
Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Valid driver license with proof of insurance.
Must be able to lift to fifteen (15) pounds.
Frequent use of office machines to include telephone, computer, and printer.
Ability to travel 50% of the time to branch locations.
PAY PHILOSOPHY:
The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Family First Homecare have a corresponding compensation plan which may include a bonus at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
KEY DETAILS:
**This position requires the employee to work in the office Monday through Friday during core business hours.** Core business typically fall between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility with start and end times.
