Description:
The Accounts Payable Clerk plays a crucial role in the financial operations of our organization. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a foundation in accounting principles, specifically Accounts Payable. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. This role demands excellent organizational skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to contribute to month-end closing procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable records, including vendor statements and payment history.
- Prepare and process payments via various methods, adhering to established payment schedules.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, working closely with vendors and internal departments.
- Assist with month-end closing activities.
- Perform data entry of invoices and other financial documents into the accounting system.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including gathering and organizing documentation.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding payment inquiries and issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- General knowledge of Accounts Payable principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Experience with data entry and invoice processing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with month-end closing procedures.
- Experience with vendor management and relationship building.
- Prior experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
