CT Tech Aide presso Midstate Radiology Associates

Position Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience. Starting pay for this position is between $18.00/hr and $24.00/hr + competitive shift differentials

Job Summary:   

Works under the direct supervision of staff technologist.  May assist in any modality within the radiology department. Follows established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Escort patient from waiting room.
2. Question patient to obtain appropriate clinical history
3. Verify patient's name and date of birth
4. Prepare patient for exam
5. Position patient on the table, centering and positioning for exam
6. Remove IV under the guidance of CT Tech
7. Escort patient back to waiting room
8. Prepare room for next patient, wiping down IV tray and table
9. Assist CT technologist with scanning paperwork as needed
10. Make confirmation calls for next-day appointments, checking blood work, authorizations, etc.

Qualifications Guidelines:

Education Required:   

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.

Desirable:

•  Experience in a medical setting. 

Knowledge:

• Working knowledge applicable to department technology with specific references to anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to department technology.
• Patients care standards and requirements.
• Quality assurance principles and practices.
• Customer service principles and practices.
• OSHA principles and practices.
• TJC standards of practice.

Skills/Abilities:

• Organize and monitor patient flow to meet company productivity, quality, health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
• Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads.
• Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations.
• Understand and follow specifications and instructions.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
• Capable of maintaining basic life support (CPR).

Special Conditions:

May be required to rotate on weekend and/or holiday schedule.

May be required to cover ancillary offices, as needed.

OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

Physical lifting and walking required.
