This position provides support to the operations with specific responsibilities for ensuring that all schools receive their mail, boxes, packages, etc. in a timely manner, monitoring postal regulations, cleaning and performing routing safety checks on delivery vehicles, and supporting the operation of the central office.
Essential Job Functions
Loads delivery vehicles to ensure that all items and supplies are properly secured.
Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and records (e.g., shipped items, certified mailings, international mailings, and returned items, etc.) for purpose of providing accurate information to mailing parties and departments.
Maintains delivery vehicles (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) to ensure safe operation of vehicle.
Maintains mail room equipment, tools and work areas to ensure the availability of items to complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
Monitors postage meter and bulk mailing balances and stamp inventory to ensure sufficient funds and adequate supplies.
Prepares letters, packages, etc. for the purpose of ensuring items are packaged properly in accordance with shipping regulations.
Processes mail (e.g., bulk mail, special deliveries, special mailings, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper postage is affixed, expenses are allocated to appropriate departments, and postal regulations are followed.
Sorts internal and external mail for the purpose of distributing to appropriate parties.
Transports a variety of materials to and from the post office, other district units, etc. (e.g. mail, supplies, board packets, etc.) for the purpose of processing internal and/or external mail and deliveries.
Receives stock and nonstick items to ensure specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct.
Schedules preventive maintenance on mailroom equipment to ensure availability of equipment is in good working order.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Equipment Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator, and telephone.
Travel Requirements Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Pay Rate $17.69 per hour.
Work Schedule 8 hours per day. 260 days per year.
