Qualifications:
College hours, high School Diploma or GED
Ability to work within deadlines and handle interruptions
General understanding of payroll and accounting terminology and procedures
Effective communications and strong interpersonal skills
Good analytical problem-solving skills
Work with confidential material
Demonstrate proficiency with 10-key calculator and computer data entry
Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented
Primary Purpose:
The timely and accurate processing of Payroll Authorizations related to police department administration, police officer, security officers (level 3) and security guards (level 2).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review employee timecards for accuracy.
- Assist with TCP absence interface duties.
- Assist with the calculation of employee pay and adjustments from Payroll Authorizations and other documentation.
- Process overtime sheets, calculate overtime totals and determine billback costs.
- Assist with new hire training in TCP and overtime logs.
- Primarily responsible for all department filing.
- Other administrative duties when needed.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, typewriter, printer, copier, calculator, and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions. Occasionally work prolonged and irregular hours. Heavy volume of telephone calls.
