Position Description:
This position reports directly to the Recreation Program Coordinator. The Recreation Specialist is primarily responsible for supervising participants and visitors utilizing the facility, directing programmed activities, and ensuring that the rules and regulations of the Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center are being followed. The Specialist is also responsible for the inventory and upkeep of athletic equipment and athletic supplies necessary to provide programming. Additional tasks include preventative maintenance and cleaning the gym, fitness/workout areas, indoor track, and playground areas, as well as supervising in our childcare programs as needed. This position requires frequent weekend shifts.
Schedule:
This position requires afternoons/evenings, specifically Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3p-9p, and all day on Saturday.
Skills and Requirements:
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must possess good communication skills
- A general knowledge of sports and fitness is preferred
