The Physician Revenue Cycle Services Lead assigns and monitors workload and process workflow within the PRCS department for an assigned group of employees. Provides continual education and training to staff and serves as a resource for revenue related issues. Assigns special projects to employees based on need of the department. Audits claims for regulatory compliance and accuracy. Works closely with PRCS Manager to resolve any billing rejections or denials and any other department issues. Reviews and understands Key Performance Indicator Goals for Physician Revenue Cycle and applies knowledge on a daily basis to reach goals and improve results. This position is a key change agent in identifying opportunities for improvement for PRCS staff and for assisting with improvement initiatives within the revenue cycle.
Responsibilities
Communicates insurance patient account and/or system issues problems or developments promptly.
Continually provides job specific training and education opportunities to the PRCS staff.
Directs daily operational tasks to ensure completion and adhere to policy and procedure and assisting in achieving set KPI goals.
Goes the ""extra mile"" for patient satisfaction. Follows through with promised actions.
Knowledge of all Bankruptcy notices and posting of information from received reports.
Responsible for analyzing/providing weekly monthly reports as requested.
Reviews all assigned queues mail/correspondence and internal requests and takes appropriate action by Friday of each week.
Reviews all financial assistance applications for approval by Friday of each week with % compliance.
Reviews and understands applicable regulatory updates as they are made available. Applies information to daily activity.
Reviews at random claims per department/group for audit purposes every week.
Supports and works together with staff towards departmental goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma
Required Experience: 2 years Medical Billing and/or Follow up
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: Certified Professional Coder
