QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two (2) years coaching experience at the middle school or high school level.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rules and regulations.
- Ability to motivate and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills interacting with students, parents, and staff.
- Basic knowledge of athletic safety practices and training.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design and implement practice and game plans that build athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Mentor student-athletes, focusing on skill improvement, academic success, and personal character.
- Lead the team in games, make strategic decisions and ensure all safety and game regulations are followed.
- Priortize student-athlete safety during practices, games, and travel.
- Strengthen relationships with parents, staff, and the Beecher community to foster team support and engagement.
- Maintain records, manage equipment, and attend district meetings as required.
- Communicate with the athletic director to ensure students are maintaining academic eligibility.
- Assist varsity coaches with fundraising events.
- The Head Middle School coach and staff will be asked to asist the varsity coaching staff when needed. These duties include but are not limited to: game day help, bookkeeping, game management, etc.
REQUIREMENTS: Newly hired employees MUST satisfactorily pass:
1. Police clearance including digital fingerprinting.
