Health Plan Account Executive, Blues

The EDH Channel Team is looking for a talented and strategic Account Executive to own the short- and long-term success of several key health plan client relationships.  Account Executives are responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for health plan client accounts, including both deepening our relationship with the health plan account teams and their underlying employer customers while enabling both groups to maximize the value of the EDH partnership.   

The ideal candidate will have a background working for and/or closely with a Blue plan, will have extensive healthcare knowledge, experience in strategic client relationship management and sales with demonstrated success in partnering with clients to achieve their healthcare goals and in retaining and growing our relationship with themThis position requires creative thinking, a problem-solving, flexibility and results oriented mindset, and the ability to transform data into actionable insights for clients.  Successful Account Executives are entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented, excellent communicators, and goal-oriented relationship builders. They can equally present effectively in front of an employer and then come back and do the work required to solve the issues or strategize on the topic at hand. 

Location: Remote | USA | Travel Required

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage the overall relationship with the health plan client management team, the client and all stakeholders  
  • Develops and executes strategic plans for each health plan including an activation component with a focus on how we deepen and expand our relationships across their business 
  • Develops plans and executes to increase health plan client revenue and profitability through better utilization of products, pricing strategies, and communication of new and enhanced offerings 
  • Ensures both company and client objectives, expectations and goals are being met  
  • Exercises judgement in handling client discussions, escalations and issue resolution  
  • Demonstrates proactive ability to diagnose and fix root cause drivers of service and/or delivery problems, working along side a client success manager  
  • Develops and manages strategic plans in the most proactive and strategic manner possible, and finds new and innovative ways to show clients the value of the products and services purchased leading to client growth 
  • Proactively identifies potential service issues and takes steps to resolve identified issues  
  • Lead and mentor other account managers to resolve simple and complex issues as well as develop solutions proactively 
  • Successfully onboard new clients in a manner that sets them up for continued success  
  • Conduct professional and productive in-person meetings with clients  
  • Remote position; willingness to travel up to 35% of the time to clients/ prospects, EDH headquarters (Dallas) and appropriate industry events.   

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with health plans and employer customers 
  • 12+ years of job-related experience in a strategic account management role within the human capital, healthcare, consulting or benefits industry preferred  
  • Direct experience handling portfolios consisting of multiple Fortune 500 and/or health plan accounts preferred 
  • Ability to engage interpersonally with all levels within an organization, including C-suite  
  • Process-driven and strong analytical skills and insights 
  • Strong leadership and influence management skills, ability to motivate Account Managers to support client portfolios  
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed organizational structure  
  • Motivated team play with a positive collaborative attitude  
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, start-up like environment  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • High energy Level, willing to contribute to establishing a world class corporate culture
