Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works has an exciting opportunity to join our team in Berkeley, MO as the Engineering Operations & Affordability Leader to support programs and activities at all Phantom Works division locations.

This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the Phantom Works division Leadership Team and the BDS Engineering, Operations, and Affordability Leadership.  Opportunity to develop, demonstrate, and hone project management skills, financial management skills, and the opportunity identification and capture process. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the primary engineering labor rate pool owners and affordability focals at each Phantom Works site to:

    • Achieve Phantom Works overhead controllable labor targets

    • Oversee the Promotion and Out of Sequence (POOS) funds for Phantom Works

    • Ensure Phantom Works proposal bid rate impacts are incorporated into site engineering labor rates and affordability goals

    • Achieve Phantom Works Bulk charging performance targets

    • Oversee Engineering impacts to site Rates to meet the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP).

  • Review and disposition for all Phantom Works controllable overhead and travel requests

  • Manage the Phantom Works Engineering promotion cycles and salary offer exception processes

  • Oversee implementation of Engineering Affordability Initiatives across the division

  • Oversee PW Engineering labor Rates at each site

  • Oversee Engineering Facilities Planning for LRBP and Emergent Requests.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 20+ years engineering experience with a Bachelor’s OR 18+ years with a Masters OR 15+ years with a PhD related work experience

  • Experience with engineering program execution and leadership, engineering functional skill development, cost account management, affordability initiative leadership, and project leadership

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
