Job Summary 

We are seeking an experienced Magento Tech Lead to lead the technical aspects of our e-commerce projects, focusing on Adobe Commerce (Magento). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Magento development, integration with backend systems like AEM, and leading technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-performance e-commerce solutions. You will be responsible for driving best practices, mentoring the development team, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Technical Leadership: Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of e-commerce solutions using Magento or similar platforms. Oversee the end-to-end technical delivery, ensuring the best practices are followed. 
  • System Integration: Oversee integration between Magento and other systems (e.g., AEM, CRMs, third-party APIs, payment gateways). Ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency across platforms. 
  • Mentorship & Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of developers, ensuring they are following the best practices in coding, testing, and project management. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, helping junior developers grow. 
  • Architecture & Design: Define and implement robust, scalable, and secure technical architectures for Magento-based solutions. Work with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met with optimal technical solutions. 
  • Code Quality & Standards: Ensure that the development team adheres to high standards of coding, quality assurance, and documentation. Implement efficient development workflows using version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration. 
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to optimize Magento platform performance, focusing on page load speed, security, scalability, and reliability. 
  • Customization & Extension Development: Customize Magento core functionalities and develop extensions to meet specific business requirements. Ensure code is reusable and maintainable for future use. 
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and designers to deliver technical solutions that align with the business goals. Act as the technical liaison between stakeholders and development teams. 
  • Agile & Project Management: Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives) and contribute to project timelines, estimates, and deliverables. Use JIRA and Confluence for task tracking, documentation, and collaboration. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with Magento’s latest releases, features, and industry trends. Implement new features and tools that can improve the performance and capability of the platform. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Magento Expertise: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Magento development, with in-depth knowledge of Magento 2 architecture, themes, modules, and APIs. 
  • System Integration Experience: Hands-on experience integrating Magento with back-end systems such as AEM, ERP systems, and payment gateways. 
  • Technical Leadership: Proven experience leading development teams, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring adherence to development standards and best practices. 
  • PHP & MySQL: Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and related web technologies. Deep understanding of Magento’s backend and frontend technologies. 
  • Frontend Technologies: Familiarity with frontend technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular). 
  • Performance Optimization: Strong experience in optimizing Magento performance, including caching, database optimization, and code refactoring. 
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Experience with version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. 
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile environment, using tools like JIRA for task management, and Confluence for documentation and collaboration. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Magento certifications are a plus. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Retail Industry Knowledge: Experience in the retail or e-commerce industry, particularly with high-traffic Magento sites. 
  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure) for hosting and deploying Magento solutions. 
  • Additional E-commerce Platforms: Experience with other e-commerce platforms like Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a plus.
