About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Casual AOD Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support and facilitation of program engagement to the Residential Rehabilitation participants at our Bendigo Service. This role works across a variety of shifts including weekends, public holidays, days, evenings and sleepovers.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award level 4.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivers “hands-on” practical support to enhance living skills and planning activities to assist in meeting treatment plan goals
  • Supports participants by developing effective relationships and offering relevant intervention including psycho-social educational groups
  • Organises a range of appropriate enjoyable social activities to ensure participants remain actively engaged
  • Works as part of a team along with case managers and other support workers to achieve the best outcomes for the participants
  • Supports participants to manage behaviours that may present as barriers to treatment

The successful applicants will have

  • Relevant experience in a social service environment and AOD sector
  • Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent, minimum. Diploma preferred
  • Certificate IV(or equivalent) in the application of AOD interventions or the AOD Skill Set required to work within the AOD sector
  • Knowledge of lifestyle pressures faced by disadvantaged people in the community
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the AOD sector including role, context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
