Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Quality organization is seeking a General Manager, Quality to join our leadership team at Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA). This is a permanent position based 100% onsite in Port Melbourne.
We are seeking a dynamic leader with a proven track record of leading change, inspiring others, and challenging the status quo. In this role, you will be driving improvements within our programs to ensure teams are prepared for and continuously improving with the goal of zero injuries, zero defects, and zero FOD.
As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play an integral role in leading our governance, risk, compliance and assurance strategy, while also shaping the way we do business across our functions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leading and mentoring a team of front-line managers and employees.
- Partnering with other functions to ensure processes used to manage, develop and improve areas are effective and integrated.
- Developing and executing business plans, policies and procedures.
- Providing education and coaching on connecting the quality systems and processes.
- Understanding business objectives, strategies, and conditions affecting all areas of the program.
- Developing and maintaining partnering relationships with program leaders, quality stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
- Communicate and convey quality status and actions to improve.
- Leading process improvement activities for the team.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
- 8+ years quality and/or compliance leadership experience in a complex, highly regulated, large-scale manufacturing / engineering organization.
- 8+ years experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change.
- A strong, influential leadership style that moves people to act, motivates and inspires excellence and innovation.
- Strong exposure with ISO9001 standards.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders at all levels, including external bodies, government and regulators.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with ability to effectively drive business performance in a dynamic business environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is advantageous although not essential.
- Experience in global (multi-national) and / or matrix organisations is preferred.
- Self-starter who creates and implements job-related solutions and procedures.
- Proficient in Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM) and Systematic Problem Solving.
- Strong Quality Management Systems/Business Acumen; Adaptability, Communication, Continuous Improvement, Customer Focus, Managing Conflict, Building Positive Relationship, Ethical Leadership and risk mitigation skills.
Additional Information:
- This is a non-EBA IJC JACVMM position. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
- This role supports a global business and may require work schedule flexibility as well as domestic and international travel.
- This is not an expat position, no international relocation or sponsorship provided, Australian defense security clearance may be required.
