Description

Job Objective:

To assist with the production of small wooden structures, such as sheds, coops, and greenhouses. Support tasks include preparing materials, assembling components, and maintaining quality standards throughout the process to ensure products are completed accurately and on time. This position reports to Director of Operations of Industrial Services who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with the assembly team to complete daily production orders.
  • Support onboarding by assisting new employees in adapting to their roles.
  • Operate shop equipment, including chop saws, table saws, CNC machines, and related tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area.
  • Identify improvements to production processes for greater efficiency, reduced waste, and enhanced product quality.

  • Partner with design and engineering teams to optimize product designs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the production environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications


Required Education and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or the ability to obtain through The Excel Center.
  • Previous experience in woodworking production preferred, with basic knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and processes considered beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple production tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven problem-solving skills to address challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality, visually appealing products.
  • Adaptability to changing production needs and openness to process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing clear instructions.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Qualifications:

  • Flexible availability.
  • Able to frequently bend, twist, reach above shoulder level, push and pull, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to operate shop equipment, including chop saws, table saws, CNC machines, and related tools.
  • Must obtain Goodwill-provided forklift certification.
