Position Summary:
We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our Finance team and oversee all key financial operations, ensuring fiscal stability, compliance, and strategic financial planning across the organization. The Financial Controller will manage a high-performing Finance team and oversee accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, internal controls, and financial reporting. This role also serves as the primary financial liaison for external stakeholders, including county mental health boards, the Ohio Department of Medicaid, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and key vendors.
Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:
- Supervise a finance team of 4–7 staff members, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management to support staff development and operational excellence.
- Manage month-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports, board updates, and cash flow forecasts.
- Deliver actionable insights through program-level financial reports for clinical and operational leaders.
Lead the annual audit process, including preparation of work papers, reconciliations, and coordination with external auditors
Ensure financial reporting compliance with GAAP, grant guidelines, and internal controls.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- MBA preferred.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of finance leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in fiscal management, cash flow oversight, and internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party payer regulations.
