About the Department
Alabama State University, Facilities and Operations, invites applications to fill the position of Service Maintenance Technician II. Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, the Technician II will perform basic preventive maintenance applications and repair physical structures on ASU's campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace lightbulbs and fixtures
- Perform routine preventative maintenance activities (e.g. lubricate moving parts, replace filters, clean equipment, adjust and/or replace belts, etc.)
- Answer service call as received to protect students, equipment, and facilities
- Exercise independent judgement in the methods and procedures to perform job related tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, and 10 years of verifiable experience in building Maintenance and custodial services, working knowledge of basic standards in installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, plumbing, physical structure in accordance with building codes and regulations, working knowledge of basic standards, practices, methods, tools and material associated with the carpentry trade, have a valid Alabama driver's license with an insurable driving required required.
