Position Overview:
The Assistant Manager - Guest Services is instrumental in supporting the seamless operation of the Front End, consistently delivering an exceptional experience to every guest. The Assistant Manager - Guest Services leadership will be key to driving the success of the department, motivating and supporting the Front End team to provide superior service in every interaction. This position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations with - or in the absence of - the Guest Services Manager, ensuring that all staff members are thoroughly trained in POS systems, guest service standards, and company policies. In addition the expertise of this individual will cultivate a high performing, engaged team committed to delivering service that creates a lasting, positive impression for all guests.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Minimum 2 years of guest service experience, preferably in grocery or retail
- Proficiency in POS systems and general accounting principles
- Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of health & sanitation standards and local/state regulations (especially alcohol sales)
Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations of the Front End, including during the absence of the Guest Services Manager
- Train, coach, and support cashiers and guest service staff in POS systems, hospitality standards, and company policies
- Maintain a welcoming, efficient, and organized Front End environment
- Uphold strict standards in cash handling, accuracy, and security
- Monitor and maintain compliance with alcohol sales regulations and security protocols
- Support team scheduling, staff development, and performance feedback
- Model outstanding guest service and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork
- Troubleshoot and communicate POS system issues and support problem-solving
- Perform hands-on support as needed: register operation, bagging, guest assistance
Who You Are
- A natural leader with a positive, approachable style
- Experienced in retail or grocery environments with at least 2 years in both guest service and supervisory roles
- Skilled in POS systems, cash handling, and operational policies
- Able to balance guest experience, team leadership, and back-end operations
- Highly organized and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting
- Proactive, dependable, and calm under pressure
- Passionate about great service, continuous improvement, and team success

Job Type: Assistant Dept. Manager
Hours: Full-time, fixed schedule. Requires morning, evening, and weekend availability.
Pay: Starts at $20/hr, previous experience will be taken into consideration
