About the role.

An Apprentice Millwright is dedicated to learning all tasks associated with being a licensed Millwright Mechanic. 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Trouble shoots and maintains production equipment  
  • Repairs and replaces hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, pipes, hoses, filters, gearboxes, bearings assemblies, etc.  
  • Passes on information, experiences and knowledge to other maintenance employees in regards to repair jobs, preventive maintenance, problem symptoms, etc. which he/she may be involved with during his/her shift 
  • Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor 
  • Ensures work areas are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times 
  • Informs the supervisor to the best of his/her ability about unusual things, faulty design, unsafe conditions, missing parts, etc. Utilizes log book communications also 
  • Works in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and excellent workmanship 
  • Participate in ongoing training programs as required to maintain and enhance skills 
  • Responsible for trouble free operation of the production line and equipment on site 
  • Performs basic welding would be an asset. 
  • All other maintenance assigned tasks or functions as designated by Foreman/Supervisor or designee 
  • May work in pack and/or processing area.

  • Effective Communicator – effective listener; encourage open communication and sharing of ideas amongst team members 
  • Organization – must possess the ability to organize and manage the implementation of multiple work lists 
  • Delivers Results – Reliable, consistent and self-motivated 
  • Computer Aptitude - computer use as well as an understanding of associated software (i.e. SAP, Excel, Power Point) 
  • Flexible – Must be flexible with your schedule to support events and activities 
  • MUST be mechanically inclined 
  • Ability to work shift work as required 
  • Satisfactory past job performance  
  • Must be willing to complete Apprenticeship Program  

 

Required Length, Type of Experience and Licenses  

  • Must be willing to successfully complete Confined Space & Rescue, Forklift, Scissor lift, Emergency First Aid, fire watch and fire extinguisher training. Must be able to operate this equipment in a safe and efficient manner.  
  • Minimum of 2 years packaging experience 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting up to 70lbs

Compensation Package: $ - $ Starting at $34.03 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
