About the Role:

  • We are seeking qualified contractors to fulfil the role of Healthcare Billing Processor, who will be responsible for viewing and reviewing This opportunity is open to individuals located in Knoxvile, TN and/or surrounding areas.
  • Contractors will be engaged and paid by a third-party payroll supplier, BCforward, which will serve as the employer of record for tax and compliance purposes.
  • Once training has been successfully completed this role will be 80% remote (requires two flexible days in office per week).
  • Performance coaching & collaboration will be provided throughout your employment to drive engagement.
  • All Computer/Technology hardware will be provided to enable your success but must be picked up in person from the local office located in Louisville, TN (and returned to the same location if you decide to pursue other opportunities). You must live within a 45-mile radius of Louisville, TN.
  • The Healthcare Billing Processor position is a hybrid role based near Louisville, TN, offering 22 weeks of in-office paid training followed by mostly remote work. All training will take place in office (Monday through Friday 8 am-5 PM).  
  •  You’ll support a healthcare client by processing and adjusting claims and appeals, leveraging multiple systems and critical thinking skills. Ongoing coaching and collaboration are provided to ensure your success, and all necessary technology is supplied for in-person pickup


Key Responsibilities:


  • Process and/or adjust typical and non-typical healthcare claims and appeals
  • Perform extensive research to resolve claims and appeals
  • Use multiple healthcare-related operating systems and tracking tools simultaneously
  • Apply critical thinking to determine when to escalate issues or seek advice
  • Handle data entry and billing tasks
  • Maintain high reading comprehension to manage large volumes of data

Deliverables or Project Scope: 

  • Complete 22 weeks of paid, in-office training (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM)
  • Transition to 80% remote work after training, with two flexible in-office days per week
  • Pick up and return all technology hardware in person at the Louisville, TN office
  • Engage in performance coaching and collaboration throughout employment
  • Support the healthcare client by ensuring accurate and timely claims processing

Collaboration Tools or Platforms: 

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
  • Multiple healthcare-related operating systems and tracking tools

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of professional work experience with solid tenure in each role
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Strong computer proficiency focusing on multiple systems input
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions regarding the decision to pay or deny claims
  • Excellent reading comprehension due to the high volume of data required to complete the claims process
  • Data entry or billing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field
  • Experience understanding, reviewing and interpreting inspections
  • Process Outsourcing experience
  • Microsoft Access experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience with graphs and V-Lookup
  • Programming/Coding Skills
  • Self-motivated, high energy with strong decision-making skills
  • Highly effective team player with solid communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field
  • 1 year of Medical Claims processing experience
  •  Healthcare billing or processing experience  
  •  Knowledge and experience in any workstream of US healthcare

Compensation Disclosure:

  • Compensation for contractor roles supporting Accenture is determined by the contractor’s employer BCforward, and varies depending on factors such as location, role, skill set, and experience.
  • As required by law, below you’ll find the reasonable range of compensation BCforward expects to pay for this role if hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below. Compensation Range: $18.64 to $18.64 per hour
