JOB SUMMARY

Position Title: Rapid Rehousing Specialist

Program: Domestic Violence Services

Classification: Non-Exempt/Full-Time

The Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Specialist connects domestic violence survivors to safe, affordable permanent housing options in the community and provides trauma-informed, client centered supportive services and referrals. They are part of the DVS Housing Team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Client Services:

  • Provide trauma-informed safety planning and the full range of supportive services, including referrals, to DV survivors.
  • Develop housing goal plans with survivors engaged in DVS services.
  • Connect survivors to safe, affordable permanent housing (PH) options. Coordinate rental assistance. Continue to provide supportive services to survivors receiving rental assistance in PH.
  • Apply techniques and learnings gained through professional development including trauma-informed care, family-centered coaching, continued DV education, and others.

Advocacy:

  • Identify and communicate systemic barriers and challenges to housing access for DV survivors.
  • Perform individual and systems advocacy with landlords, rental companies and related housing partners on behalf of DV survivors.
  • Build relationships with landlords and rental companies to build pathways to housing for DV survivors.

Teamwork/Collaboration:

  • Member of the DVS Housing Team, which coordinates the continuum of housing options.
  • Attend Housing Team meetings assigned.
  • Assist with weekend/holiday on-call coverage by DVS policies.

Accountability/Compliance:

  • Monitor team compliance with CoC and HUD policy standards
  • Maintain client files and data per DVS, CoC, and HUD requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform apartment/home inspections per CoC/HUD guidelines
  • Fulfill reporting requirements by guidelines set by DVS and funding sources
  • Complete 10 hours of continuing education in DV and victims’ services annually
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in the social services or related field is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience working with housing services is required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
