- Develop new business relationships. Build and nurture productive outside referral sources. Identify qualified potential customers and initiate business development efforts to establish banking relationships. Determine product/service solutions, referring the opportunity to the appropriate department.
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers through a combination of email, telephone and face-to-face visits. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of each customer’s business strategy and offer ideas and banking solutions to help them achieve their goals. Arrange for periodic contact by senior bank management (DCB, CCBO, CEO, as appropriate) to ensure each customer has a bank executive they can contact if needed.
- Ensure that all financial statements, covenant compliance certificates, borrowing base certificates, personal financial statements, and any other required financial reporting is received, logged and reviewed on a timely basis. Ensure that borrowing base and covenant compliance certificates are prepared and signed by an appropriate party of the Borrower.
- Manage the structuring of commercial loans and the negotiation of loan documents, and ensure that final documentation is consistent with credit approval documents.
- Work collegially with the Credit Department to insure high quality credit analysis and risk assessment are developed. Present credits for approval. Ensure that all appropriate information is delivered to Loan Servicing, the Credit Department, or other administrative units. Ensure that record keeping is accurate and current.
- Maintain the reputation of the Bank with customers, prospects, referral sources, and community-based organizations
- Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed Bank and regulatory compliance guidelines. Ensure all commercial loan relationships are in full compliance with Bank policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulatory guidelines. Recommend changes as necessary to support prescribed requirements.
- Represent the Bank through active participation in community and industry organizations and events and promote the business interests of the Bank.
- Perform other duties as may be required.
- Bachelor's Degree and Credit Training is required
- 5+ years commercial credit and/or business lending experience is preferred
- Effective analytical, organizational, business development, presentation, problem-solving, negotiation and customer service skills.
- Must possess at least intermediate technology skills, including knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
- Must be able to travel throughout defined market.
