Position Overview:
The Head Tennis Professional is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tennis program. This includes providing high-level instruction, developing innovative programs, managing tennis facilities, and ensuring an exceptional tennis experience for all members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide private and group tennis lessons to members of all ages and skill levels.
- Develop and conduct clinics, camps, and instructional programs tailored to beginners, intermediates, and advanced players.
- Mentor and train assistant tennis professionals, junior coaches, and other staff members involved in the tennis program.
- Utilize the latest teaching techniques and technologies to enhance player development.
- Design and implement a comprehensive tennis program, including competitive leagues, social events, tournaments, and fitness training specific to tennis.
- Create and manage junior development programs to nurture young talent and encourage participation in the sport.
- Plan and promote seasonal events, such as holiday camps, charity tournaments, and member mixers.
- Oversee the maintenance, scheduling, and overall condition of the tennis courts and facilities.
- Ensure the availability and quality of tennis equipment, including racquets, balls, and training aids.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure courts are in top condition and safe for play.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and guests.
- Engage with members to understand their needs and preferences, providing personalized attention and exceptional customer service.
- Organize and promote events and activities to increase member participation and satisfaction.
- Manage the tennis department's budget, including revenue generation from lessons, clinics, and events.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, member communication, billing, and reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments within the resort, such as marketing and hospitality, to promote tennis activities and events.
- Represent Camp Creek Resort in the local tennis community and at regional or national events.
- Develop partnerships with schools, organizations, and other clubs to promote tennis and drive participation.
- Organize outreach programs and charity events to give back to the community and promote the sport.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- USPTA or PTR certification (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience as a tennis professional, including a proven track record in coaching players of all levels.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in program development and staff supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire members.
- Knowledge of current teaching techniques, training methods, and tennis technologies.
- Ability to manage budgets, handle administrative tasks, and work collaboratively with other departments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and agility to demonstrate tennis techniques and play at a high level
