Drama Assistant Technical Fall - 2025-2026 bei Sharon Public Schools - MA

Sharon High School Theatre Company is looking for a Technical Director to lead our student design teams for our fall production, Hadestown. Tech Week November 15 through 20, Production dates November 21, 22, 23, Strike on November 24th and 25th. 

Responsibilities include:

• Leading our teams of student design teams through a collaborative and text based design process that supports the vision of the show. 

• Overseeing the scenic department students through a safe and efficient construction process.

• Educating and supervising students on the proper use of various power tools.

• Fostering a culture of kindness, collaboration, curiosity, and dedication.

• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of theatrical spaces through the construction process.

• Serving as an advisor and supervisor to other design students (i.e. costumes, props, lighting) who will be in the space working on their own projects at the same time as the Scenic and Design team.

• Leading our approximately 60 students (cast and crew) through two days of Strike, fully restoring theatrical spaces (Mainstage, Black Box, Steam Room, Adjacent Hallways) to an organized and clean state.

• Managing and overseeing the pick up and return of any potential rented materials or elements of the scenic design.

Student crew members are typically called twice a week, ideally once during the same time as actors, and another 1-2 times to be determined. Scheduling of student design and construction teams is flexible, and may occur anytime between Monday through Friday 3:30pm or later, and may include Saturday morning/afternoon builds.
