Project Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA

Schedule: Hybrid (Tuesday through Thursday in-office)

Rate of Pay: $46 per hour

Note: This is initially a contract position and may be eligible for direct hire after the initial term.

Job Summary

This posting is for a Project Engineer in Project Construction's Renewable Substation group.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attend weekly and monthly project meetings
  • Review notices, change orders, milestone payments etc.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and facilitate resolution
  • Facilitate review of engineering design package
  • Support resolution of construction issues
  • Facilitate review of turnover documentation and milestone completion requirements
  • Track and report out on engineering and construction progress

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required:

  • 2+ years of electric distribution, transmission or generation experience
  • Self-motivator who can work cooperatively in a team environment, but is comfortable independently seeking knowledge and information
  • Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with project teams, customers, other utilities, and government agencies
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize work based on project needs
  • Knowledge of engineering theories, principles, standards, codes, concepts, and their application to problem solving

Preferred:

  • Substation and/or transmission line experience
  • Construction experience
  • Power system modeling experience
  • Relay setting and coordination experience

Education Requirements

Bachelor's in Engineering
