The Senior Lifecycle Marketer is responsible for the email/SMS marketing communication strategy, spearheading email/SMS marketing content of both Elastic and RISE products and designing testing plans to optimize performance. This individual must be a subject matter expert on email marketing broadly and have extensive experience on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform to ensure recommendations align with reality. This role will work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to review test plans, size opportunities, and effectively communicate next steps and requirements to the Email Marketing Specialists on the team. Above all, the ideal candidate must be an advocate for the customer and ensure all direct response communications are crafted and optimized with the customer experience in mind.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Key driver of growth in key market; helping lead omnichannel initiatives through adtech and martech
- Evaluate current customer journeys and build test plans with clearly identified opportunities, requirements, and timelines
- Optimize current marketing platform implementation and provide recommendations for workflows, data structure, and processes
- Provides design and content support, producing high-impact collateral and marketing assets to enhance campaign performance
- Works closely with Email Marketing Specialists to ensure test plans are well-defined and executed within acceptable timeframe
- Formally report test results and next steps to senior Marketing, Product, and Risk leadership
- Play a pivotal role in growing our lifecycle marketing strategy and customer experience
- Oversee planning, execution, and management of all email, SMS, and Push communication within Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Provides QC & final approval for campaign execution and escalates performance issues to the Senior Marketing Manager
- Regularly collaborate with stakeholders across the business including digital marketing, product, data, tech and performance analytics
- Provides hands-on assistance with email, SMS, and Push campaigns
Education and Experience
- 7+ years’ experience of email/SMS channel execution and strategy
- 5+ years’ experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Certified Email Marketing Specialist Certification
- Experience with other ESP preferred, but not required
- Strong quantitative / analytical capabilities
- Experience in financial services industry a plus, but not required
Skills, Abilities, and Core Traits
- Journey Builder, Mobile Studio, and Automation Studio experience
- Basic proficiency in HTML and building emails using a template
- Expertise in email best practices: segmentation, deliverability, content, and design
- Excellent quantitative and analytic skills
- Excellent Excel skills and high proficiency in other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong work ethic and passion for working with data
- The successful candidate must enjoy working with data but also have the ability to glean insights and translate them into business recommendations for senior management
