Summary
The Technical Specialist 3 for Building Information Modeling (BIM) will assist with MTA Construction & Development (C&D) Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) BIM applications, both vertical (building) and horizontal (civil). This position will help the C&D users (internal and external) utilize BIM tools for the planning, design, collaboration, and delivery processes of complex and multidisciplinary projects in a multiplatform environment. The incumbent will assist with managing BIM production, including standards, procedures, training, and BIM production hardware provisions. The incumbent will handle all the necessary tools & technologies and their processes to help ensure uniformity of BIM models under C&D standards and policies, from schematic through as-built submittals.
Responsibilities
The role will entail some of these typical duties:
Provide BIM Support and monitor BIM-related support tickets to assist with the resolution of client service problems/issues/requests.
Assist with reviewing BIM Implementation Plans
Assist with reviewing BIM models to ensure adherence to MTA standards.
Maintain and update the standard MTA component libraries for standard elements & equipment.
Participate in model coordination sessions.
Assist with running BIM Quickstarts and BIM progress meetings.
Test MTA configuration changes and new BIM applications/versions.
Assist with reviewing project submittals.
Embraces mentoring from senior staff.
Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the area of technical expertise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline, Engineering Technology/Engineering Science or an equivalent subject.
Must have a minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
Competencies:
Knowledge of Bentley OpenBuildings/OpenRoads(OpenRail)/ProjectWise.
Knowledge of additional Bentley BIM applications (OpenBridge/OpenTunnel/Substation/OpenPlant) a plus.
Knowledge of AutoDesk Revit a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with navigating through a large multi-discipline organization.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of industry trends related to BIM and Digital Twin systems and workflows.
Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
