Description
- Provides overall coordination of facility, grounds, and vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise maintenance and custodial staff.
- Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts, etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
- Identify critical projects necessary to maintain and/or enhance the facility functionality and member experience.
- Perform repair work and projects in a timely manner and oversee all contractors that work in the facility and grounds.
- Ensures that assigned equipment and vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
- Provide consistent communication with the membership and program departments to deliver quality service to our members and participants.
- Perform daily pool testing and monitor the proper function of all pool and whirlpool equipment.
- Perform routine facility and grounds maintenance.
- Research, recommend, and order proper janitorial and maintenance supplies.
- Perform repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversee all contractors that work in the facility and grounds.
- Assist in the development and management of budgets related to capital improvements, maintenance, and custodial services.
- Serve as the primary line of response for facility emergencies during and outside operating hours.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in facility management or related course preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance areas
- Three or more years of experience in facility management or closely related field
- Skills in supervision, budget management and project management
- Pool operator certification required within 120 days of employment
- Computer skills necessary
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare, maintain and present accurate reports and records.
- A high sense of responsibility and initiative to work independently and productively without supervision
