Position Summary

 

The PPI Business System Specialist III is a mid-level practitioner responsible for leading high-impact process improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance, quality, and efficiency across the organization. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to find opportunities, apply Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies, and drive sustainable change. This role also mentors junior PPI staff and champions a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Lead complex PPI projects from opportunity identification through implementation, ensuring measurable business results (productivity gains, quality improvement, etc.).

·         Facilitate value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and root cause analyses using problem-solving tools.

·         Develop and standardize operational processes that improve performance, reduce waste, and increase customer satisfaction.

·         Coach and mentor team members and stakeholders on PPI tools, perspective, and project execution.

·         Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to align improvement efforts with strategic objectives.

·         Measure and report project outcomes, develop KPIs, and track progress toward PPI and business goals.

·         Identify systemic barriers to improvement and recommend sustainable solutions.

·         Support digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives by integrating data analytics and automation into process improvement.

·         Promote a culture of operational excellence through training, communication, and employee engagement activities.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

·         Minimum 5+ years of experience in process improvement, operations excellence, or manufacturing/operations leadership.

·         Proven track record of leading cross-functional improvement projects with measurable impact.

Certifications (Preferred)

·         Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification.

·         PMP certification a plus.

Skills & Competencies

·         Deep understanding of Lean principles, Six Sigma DMAIC, problem-solving, and process mapping tools.

·         Strong analytical and data interpretation skills (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, etc.).

·         Excellent facilitation, communication, and change management skills.

·         Ability to influence across all organizational levels and manage multiple priorities.

·         Self-starter with strategic thinking and hands-on execution capability.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $75,800.00–$100,000.00.
