Senior Accountant - Retail Experience Preferred bei ViaOne Services

We’re looking for a results-driven Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of getting things done right and on time. In this role, you’ll lead key financial functions — from monthly closings and revenue billings to payables, inventory, and fixed asset reconciliations. You’ll use your strong accounting expertise to deliver accurate financials, streamline processes, and meet tight deadlines with confidence.

This position supports our C-Store operations, so experience in convenience store, retail, or food service accounting is highly preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform financial, general and cost accounting functions for the company in accordance with GAAP and Corporate policies.

• Execute monthly financial closings including journal entry preparation, bank and account reconciliations, and variance analysis with communicated timelines.
• Maintain cash flow trackers for various companies with forecast; Request advances of funds as needed while minimizing financing expenses.
• Assist in maintaining the Company's system of support documentation for all company transactions.
• Monthly and quarterly account analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns.
• Analyze customer behavior and profitability metrics via various software and databases.
• Assist in the development of financial reports such as but not limited to the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow reporting and ad-hoc requests.

• Processing payroll and preparing journal entries to assign to direct and indirect labor.

• Billing customers for work finalized through key milestones of the project.

• Other duties as needed by the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting, CPA eligibility preferred
• Previous experience in convenient store, retail or food service accounting is highly valued
  

• Ability to work within ambiguous details in regards to financial information.

• Self-starter with attention to detail is required.
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, customer orientation and exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative.
• Ability to effectively present information and to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with all levels within the organization and with external customers/vendors.
• Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations.
• Must be able to work independently as well as support and contribute to team goals.
• Must be organized, focused, committed to accuracy.
