Position Purpose:Lead and coordinate operational support of the merchandising organization which manages more than $80B in annual sales. Closely partner with Merchants, Merchandise Planners, and cross-functional support teams on operations and execution of assortment, pricing, security, and other operational tasks. Responsible for Merchandise Planner onboarding, training, and program management. Lead and manage the operations of the special order programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- 40% Provide operational support to merchandising teams on assortment, retail, cost, supplier buying agreement, security, SOX controllership, and Special Order programs and execution
- 10% Manage the Merchandise Planner program including program management, onboarding, and training
- 5% Manage support of the organization for merchandising operations tasks during natural disasters
- 10% Lead execution team (on-shore and off-shore) that supports over 100,000 task executions per year
- 15% Work with cross-functional business partners on challenges across the organization including serving as business process expert on merchandising tasks and processes
- 20% Seek out and implement opportunities to continuously improve operations for Merchandising
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Reports to the Director of Merchandising Operations.
- This role has 3+ direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- More than 5 years of experience in leading merchandising operations and/or support
- Experience leading teams of 15+ of both on-shore and off-shore associates
- Experience providing guidance and direction on operational approaches to senior leadership
- Experience working in retail and leading cross-functional teams in support of a retail organization
- Experience leading a training program
- Experience with merchandising systems and processes
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
