CMC Markets is opening up the financial markets for everyone. We’re evolving toward a unified global CMC brand and a single, multi‑asset experience that makes it easier to trade and invest with confidence. We combine innovation, collaboration, and measurable impact to drive step‑change visibility and sustainable growth.
The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a mid‑level Corporate Communications Specialist to help shape and tell CMC’s story. Working within Marketing and closely with the Executive team, you’ll translate business strategy and go‑to‑market priorities into clear, compelling narratives for media, investors, partners—and most importantly—our people. You’ll be a champion for the global CMC brand, connecting brand and product stories, and helping colleagues feel part of an exciting period of growth and evolution.
What you’ll do:
Set and steward the CMC narrative: champion a clear global brand story that connects brand, product, and customer experience across regions and business lines.
Plan and deliver integrated communications: design and execute campaigns across earned, owned, and social channels that build reputation, strengthen culture, and drive commercial outcomes.
Scale CMC’s visibility: develop compelling story angles, build relationships with tier‑1 UK business and finance media, and run an always‑on press office and proactive thought leadership programme.
Executive visibility & thought leadership: elevate leaders through op‑eds, speeches, LinkedIn content, interviews, and internal platforms such as townhalls and all‑hands sessions.
Internal communications & engagement: craft engaging messages, campaigns, and leader updates that help teams navigate change, celebrate success, and feel connected to our purpose and values.
High‑impact announcements: plan and deliver communications for product launches, partnerships, and corporate milestones, from press releases to web and social storytelling.
Storytelling & content creation: uncover data‑led and client‑led stories, and turn complex topics into simple, engaging messages tailored to traders, investors, and new audiences.
Issues & reputation management: maintain clear playbooks and escalation paths; partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to manage sensitive or emerging topics.
Measurement & insight: track external coverage, share of voice, and message pull‑through—alongside employee engagement metrics—to continuously refine impact and strengthen both brand and culture.
Agency & partner management: brief, manage, and align agencies and partners to deliver measurable outcomes and creative excellence.
What you’ll bring:
4–6 years’ experience in corporate communications or PR (agency or in‑house), ideally in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
A strategic storyteller who thrives in transformation and high‑growth environments, linking corporate strategy to clear market and internal narratives.
Strong media relations experience in the UK and a proven ability to secure quality coverage.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a knack for simplifying complex topics into engaging narratives.
Confident stakeholder manager who collaborates effectively with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
Excellent planning and project management skills across multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience preparing executives for media and speaking opportunities and elevating their voice on owned channels.
Familiarity with issues, crisis communications, and reputation management.
Comfortable using analytics and insights to measure impact and continuously optimise communication effectiveness.
Nice to have:
A mix of agency and in‑house experience in B2B fintech, markets, or SaaS.
Understanding of the UK regulatory environment and media landscape; exposure to FCA‑regulated contexts is a plus.
Experience with social/content strategy, SEO fundamentals, and executive social media.
Experience delivering or supporting media training for spokespeople.
Ways of working:
Office-based in London, with occasional travel for events and media opportunities.
Collaborates daily with Brand, Content, Product Marketing, Legal/Compliance, and the Executive Office.
Why CMC:
Help shape a high‑ambition agenda: advance the global CMC brand, expand our multi‑asset experience, and meaningfully increase market visibility.
Work on high‑impact projects with direct access to senior leadership and clear connection to company growth goals.
Be part of an inclusive, collaborative culture that values learning, accountability, and making a measurable impact.
